Spools

Creates & Repairs

Whats the difference between a dressmaker and a seamstress? A dressmaker is a person who makes custom clothing for women/men and children, such as dresses, blouses, evening gowns, formal wear, shirts, pants.  Whereas  a seamstress repairs clothing items.

Sewing has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy creating things. I have put this skill in the back burner, and I feel this is the time to bring my ingenuity out to the community. I have named my business as "Spools", why, because without this spool of thread you won't be able to create a masterpiece.

Testimonial from Mrs. Jaime Robinson-Hilo,Hawaii
Beautifully made! Marlene did a fabulous job on my daughter's flower girl dress. The overall design was an elegant, Hawaiian style. The dress looked classy...as if straight from a sewer's magazine! The overall fabric chosen was a fine satin, classy Hawaiian print overlayed with dainty tulle. The stitching was impeccable and showed much attention to detail. I highly recommend Marlene's sewing work!

Testimonial from: Mrs.Shamara Mattox-Hilo, Hawaii (Marlene's  daughter) Went shopping everywhere in Hilo for my senior prom evening gown. Didn't want to have the same evening gown as someone else, so I asked my mom to sew me a dress that I designed. She sewed it in time and to my exact measurements. This was another benefit- a dress that was customed just for my body. It fit perfect and was very flattering. I had a lot of compliments from friends and family. An Event that is so special such as proms, weddings, etc. should be customed to your dreams and expectations, not someone elses.
